With a steadily growing worldwide customer list, Millbrook have enhanced the capabilities we have on offer in order to remain Europe’s leading vehicle test facility. These enhancements have come in two key areas; our Corrosion testing provision and Heavy Vehicle facility.
Workshop and environmental testing investments give us even more concurrent capacity and enhanced test repeatability.
Our corrosion testing department remains a market leader within the automotive environmental testing sector and the additional investment in a new fully enclosed automatic salt-spray booth further strengthens our position within the industry. The new booth has been constructed onsite in addition to the existing on-track salt-spray facility to offer even greater accuracy and repeatability during environmental testing cycles. This will allow greater control and evenness when it comes to subjecting vehicles to full-coverage 1% salt solution spraying, a crucial ingredient for reliable durability testing.
In addition, we have more than quadrupled our workshop heavy vehicle lifting ability, with the introduction of new 20-tonne capacity air-operated hydraulic lift jacks. This additional capability can handle vehicles up to 80 tonnes in weight. With non-EU weight restricted commercial vehicles and military hardware both becoming a regular sight at our Bedfordshire facility, the new lifting provision will allow test engineers to work concurrently on more vehicles undergoing tests and evaluations.
Simon Rowlands, Millbrook’s Principal Engineer, Durability Business Development, explains:
“In both instances, the investment has enhanced our existing capabilities within our Durability department, offering a total solution to vehicle manufacturers. As a company Millbrook continues to invest and work hard to ensure it offers the very best service to its customers and it is investment such as this that helps us maintain our position as a worldwide leader in vehicle testing and evaluation.”
